The Point. is a genre-blending musical trio from Austin, TX that infuses many different cultures’ folk musics with eclectic influences ranging from Ethiopian Jazz, Saharan guitar music, Dub, Psych, Jam, Thai Morlam, and the avant-garde. Led by Jack Montesinos and Joe Roddy, skilled multi-instrumentalists and producers from Austin – Texas, The Point embarks on a musical odyssey exploring jazz fusion, tuareg guitar styles, pop, dub, psych and more. Their music consistently delivers unparalleled and distinctive sounds, taking them to play alongside esteemed figures such as Kamasi Washington, Gary Clark Jr., Bombino and others.

Born and raised in between the Appennini mountains in the center of Italy , Gipsy Rufina desired to see what was beyond the mountains. Over the mountains was Rome, where Gipsy played in different bands in the 90s Punk-HardCore scene like Redemption and The Bloodmakers. Soon Rome became too small. Last 20 years Gipsy Rufina rolled and rambled around playing thousands of shows across Europe, Estern countries , USA and South America, daring sometimes places where few others did. Hoboing in a pure outlaw troubadur spirit he constantly toured from 2005, picking the lines of his narrative, coming from his life and travels, obscure sometimes, simple others but still deep, soaked with grace and far from a cheesy songwriting.
